Kay Witney joined the 91�鶹��Ʒ Customer Service Team on 14 August 2024, assisted into the role by Volunteer David Webb.

Kay quickly transitioned from volunteer to staff member, joining the Connecting Up Customer Experience Team to fill a casual position from the 23 September 2024 - 30 July 2025. She is now looking for her next exciting role!

Chris Baldwin joined our 91�鶹��Ʒ Information Team as a volunteer, beginning with the team this year on the 13 September 2023. He is a recently retired senior Naval Officer who has served in the Royal Australian Navy for 45 years.

He attends for ~4 hours a week onsite at the Connecting Up Office, joining several of our team members in the 91�鶹��Ʒ program with extensive work/life experience: Rex Porter, Flavia, David Webb, Malcolm and Stathis Avramis.

Malcolm's 10 years of loyal service was recognised at the All Staff Town Hall on 2 November 2023. Congratulations!

91�鶹��Ʒ wanted to highlight our affection for 'the old guard' our experienced and established 91�鶹��Ʒ veterans. People who make up our core team, return regularly each week to volunteer and keep the service running. They assist in decision-making, idea development and implementation, check and create processes, and critically, help our new volunteers and interns find their feet. We felt we were more than overdue to introduce, acknowledge and thank some of our team members.

Welcome Michael!
Michael Pak Hei Chan joined our 91�鶹��Ʒ Customer Service Team as a volunteer, to gain more experience in an office environment, starting with the team on the 26 July 2023.

Michael contacted us to let us know he was hired by one of the world's largest air service providers and is now working as a passenger service agent for a commercial airline starting in June 2024. We were glad to hear he is now fulfilling his previous studies in aviation - well done Michael!

Waleed is a former student at the University of Adelaide, who had commenced study in the Bachelor of Civil Engineering. He has also worked as a volunteer with Leep, now known as Digital Literacy Foundation, where he helped clients learn to use their technological devices.

I started volunteering with Connecting Up in November 2017 while I was studying. At the time I was studying Business Administration at TAFE SA. I went on to further study Medical Administration, Accounting and Bookkeeping. I took an interest in volunteering at Connecting Up because I wanted hands on administration experience working in an office environment using some of the skills I had gained while studying.

Welcome Brenda!
Brenda Pullen joined the 91�鶹��Ʒ Customer Service Team as a volunteer on 10 March 2021 to create an opportunity to practice her TAFE administrative skills. Retiring in 21 July 2021 we were pleased to announce that she gained employment as a Customer Service Representative at an information technology company starting in August 2021, where she worked on government contracts for the next 16 months before leaving the role.
