Financial Assistance
Short-term payment for directly affected, eligible Australians whose income is affected
One-off financial assistance to affected, eligible Australians $1000 per adult, $400 per child
For people who have lost their home and primary place of residence $2000 per household
Please note that other financial assistance including personal hardship emergency payments, re-establishment grants or primary producer may apply depending on the fire - more information can be found at each link listed above
Donations to assist with SA Bushfire recovery can be made to:
- St Vincent De Paul Society
Provides individuals with material goods: food, clothing, items and vouchers,
Provides financial/emotional support: support and referrals to accommodation and services
- SA Country Fire Service
Provides financial assistance to CFS volunteer firefighters and their families affected by death, injury, loss or damage of property in service
Provides assistance to people in need on Kangaroo Island
Provides financial relief to people directly affected by the fire
Response and recovery to assist all species of affected animals: assess, triage, treat, shelter, reunite or rehabilitate and return to habitat post event
Emergency Recovery Volunteering
Spontaneous emergency volunteers to assist organisations to help in the SA bushfire recovery.
