Personal Biography
Venkatesh Samudrala is a senior data analytics and business intelligence professional with nearly 20 years of international experience across healthcare and government sectors, with experience working across India, the Middle East, and now Australia.
He spent over a decade at in Qatar, one of the largest healthcare networks in the Middle East, where he contributed to large-scale data initiatives, including the development of an enterprise data warehouse supporting 15 hospitals. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he played a key role in building data infrastructure that underpinned the national Ehteraz contact tracing application. His work in delivering healthcare dashboards and self-service BI tools earned him the Star of Excellence award on multiple occasions, presented at ministerial-level ceremonies.
Now based in Adelaide, Venkatesh brings strong expertise in data modelling, Power BI, SQL, and information management. He enjoys working with complex data and solving real-world problems by turning it into clear, practical insights that support effective decision-making.
Through his work with Connecting Up at Infoxchange, Venkatesh is part of the Data Analytics team, where he contributes to initiatives focused on improving the structure, quality, and accessibility of community information. This allows him to apply his enterprise analytics background in a community setting, while continuing to strengthen his capabilities in modern data platforms, including Power BI and Microsoft Fabric. It also provides exposure to additional tools such as Google Analytics, broadening his perspective on how data is used in community and digital environments.
He holds a Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) credential from DAMA International and Microsoft certifications in Power BI and Fabric, supported by postgraduate qualifications in data science and Master of Science in Computer Science. Alongside his technical expertise, he values clear communication and structured thinking when working with data.
Through his ongoing involvement, Venkatesh is focused on applying data-driven thinking to improve access to information and contribute to more connected and informed communities.
